A delightful site to go to near Richard Wood Upper Lake is Cowee Gap, and if you need a place to stay The Inn at Half Mile Farm is a fine choice. Man, is there a load of enjoyable things to do in close proximity to Richard Wood Upper Lake. If the weather is glorious here at Richard Wood Upper Lake, you can go for a hike along the Shortoff Mountain Trail; on a brilliant day you can       take a hike along the Ellicott Rock Trail. The scenery at Richard Wood Upper Dam near Richard Wood Upper Lake is gorgeous, and Norton Creek is a great whitewater spot nearby. Be careful coming to the Blue Ridge Mountains, you might not ever wanna go home again. Going for a hike along the Whiteside Mountain National Recreation Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, as expected you could also stop by Richard Wood Lower Lake while you're                  here; it's not far at all.
