Hurricane Lake is a pleasant lake next to Richard Wood Lower Lake, and Cowee Gap is another great place to pop by close by. Summer at Richard Wood Lower Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and through the night it cools       down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Richard Wood Lower Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Very splendid water scenery is available at Richard Wood Lower Dam close to Richard Wood Lower Lake, and Sapphire Valley Resort is a splendid site to get some rest. If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. At Richard Wood Lower Lake you can catch                  a glimpse of Laurel Knob; the skiing at Scaly Mountain is fine. Richard Wood Lower Lake is a beautiful lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. Go for a hike on the Whiteside Mountain National Recreation Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Old Edwards Inn and Spa. Richard Wood Lower Lake gets a good deal of water; the month with most of the rain is March, and April meanwhile is the driest month. Man, is there loads of fun stuff to do next to Richard Wood Lower Lake. Don't leave Richard Wood Lower Lake without first going for a hike along the Shortoff Mountain Trail; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Laurel Branch. This place, the Blue Ridge Mountains, has so much outdoors cool things. Sky Valley is a good local ski area; playing golf is lots of fun at High Hampton Inn & Country Club. There's tremendous hiking along the Ellicott Rock Trail; Richard Wood Lower Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Ammons Branch Campground is a magnificent local campground. So many exciting things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not enough time.
