This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Red Carpet Inn Boone is a glorious choice; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Sugar Mountain. Camping at Vanderpool Campgrounds is always a delightful experience, and naturally Jones Branch is a beautiful stream that is worth taking a look at. A fine place to camp here at Potato Hill Lake is Appalachian       Campground, and if you're a golfer then a perfect close by course is Boone Golf Club. All the water falling down from the sky makes Potato Hill Lake a wet location; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and December meanwhile is the driest month. This spot, the Blue Ridge Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. Buckeye Knob can be seen from Potato Hill Lake, and the snow is nice at Hawksnest. This is no spot for people who                  don’t like to enjoy themselves. Nearby Salt Rock Gap is a delightful place to go if you're at Potato Hill Lake; get your heart pumping on the splendid whitewater of Watauga River. For the duration of the summer highs here at Potato Hill Lake get into the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Potato Hill Lake dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Iron Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The Yancey Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best, and there are plenty of people from Boone here. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
