Comfort Inn Black Mountain is a splendid place to get some rest, and an afternoon playing golf at Black Mountain Town Golf Course is always a joy. Take a side spree to Ellison Branch, and hey, Gotta ski right? Ski Beech is a tremendous place to do that. Having a great time in the Blue Ridge Mountains is trouble-free. What would winter be without some skiing at Wolf Laurel, and a striking lake like Echo Lake is       a brilliant location to go to. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Side Hill Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and there are plenty of people from Asheville here at Ponderosa Lake. The amount of precipitation that falls at Ponderosa Lake is close to the national average; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; October is when it's                  the driest. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You don’t have to go far from Ponderosa Lake to observe the water at Ponderosa Lake Dam, and whitewater paddling is great on Swannanoa River. During the summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at Ponderosa Lake, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Ponderosa Lake sink into the 20's. Ponderosa Lake is a beautiful lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains. If you desire a little side visit, try Laughter Cove, and Black Knob is trouble-free to spot from Ponderosa Lake. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Black Mountain is a great place to spend a night or two, and get soaked paddling on Rocky Broad River. So much cool stuff right next door to Ponderosa Lake, truly tremendous. Lakes are such peaceful spots, why not visit Flat Top Mountain Lake near Ponderosa Lake; you can stay the night at K O A Kampgrounds. This lake is so wonderful.
