If you are traveling by, why not stop by Pharrs Lake. Anderson Creek is a good local stream, and dry warm beds await you at Sleep Inn. Pharrs Lake regularly gets a good deal of rain; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain while April is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Green Oaks Golf Course; while you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Albemarle.

| | There's whitewater on Rocky River for all you adrenaline people. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can visit Pharrs Lake Dam; after a long day outdoors Carolina Country Inn is a great location to spend a night or two. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Pharrs Lake with night lows in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Pharrs Lake temperatures descend to the 20's.
