All the water falling down from the sky makes Petree Lake a wet place; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is November. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Select Winston-Salem-Univ Pkwy, Nc; you can go for a hike on the Cooks Wall Trail. Get dripping wet paddling on Dan River, and camping is available at Sunset Park Campground. Throughout the summertime here at Petree       Lake, high temperatures generally reach the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are usually in the 40's while Petree Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 20's. Petree Lake Dam is not far at all from Petree Lake, and soar down the rapids of Big Creek in a kayak. This place, Petree Lake, it just has so much outdoors cool stuff. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Petree Lake;                  Cascade Trail is a glorious local trail; if you're a golfer then a splendid close by course is Stonewall Golf Course.
