We are at the head of a rails to trail biking, hiking, horseback riding trail. The Trail runs from Fries to Pulaski, Virginia. Five miles down the trail from Fries is a 12 mile leg that takes you into Galax.
We are located five miles from Galax, Virginia, fifteen miles from Independence, Virginia, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Blue Ridge Music Center. Thirty-five miles from Grayson Highland State Park (scenic beauty, wild horses)and thirty-five miles from Floyd, Va (bluegrass music).
Activities and surrounded area. You may enjoy bluegrass music every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at different locations in the area (all within 15 miles of RV Park). Also you'll want to bring or rent a bicycle so you can enjoy the 57 mile bike trail. The trail is perfect for biking, hiking, birding, or just enjoying the scenic beauty. The New River is perfect for canoeing, tubeing and staying cool during the hot summer months.
