North Carolina has many beautiful lakes and Newcombs Lake is one of them. Camping at Holly Grove Campground is always a great experience. A good deal of rain falls at Newcombs Lake; most of the rain falls through July; April on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Sevenmile Creek flows through this area, and a magnificent place for whitewater paddling is Eno River.

Stone's Creek is a fine whitewater spot close to Newcombs Lake, and a glorious nearby hotel is Hilton. The nice folks of Durham like to hang out close by, and good water scenery is available at Newcombs Lake Dam right next door to Newcombs Lake.

in the 80's, and the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, typically in the 60's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Newcombs Lake are in the 20's. Near Newcombs Lake you discover
a golf course called Hillandale Golf Course, and Newcombs Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Birchwood RV Park is a great local campground.
