Many people like to go to Moss Lake. There's magnificent hiking along the Discovery Loop Trail, and don't forget to take a delightful little visit to Jack Horse Swamp. If you're visiting Moss Lake from Rocky Mount, you won't be the only one; if you came for an overnight stay Enfield/Rocky Mount KOA is a fine site to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Moss Lake Dam has splendid water scenery and it's next to Moss Lake; you can go for a hike on the Summit Loop Trail. So much fun stuff to do here at Moss Lake, too delightful to be true. Don't leave Moss Lake without first going for a hike along the Dam Site Loop Trail, and next to Moss Lake you discover a golf course called Hickory Meadows Golf Course. you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Tar River.
This lake is so wonderful. Roanoke River has a perfect whitewater paddling spot close by, and dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn Battleboro. If
you need a place to stay Howard Johnson Inn is a magnificent choice. Moss Lake is a wet location that gets much precipitation; during August this area sees the most rain, and April is the month with the least moisture.
High temperatures
at Moss Lake through the months of summer are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Moss Lake temperatures drop to the 20's.
