Moores Pond is a rather wet place ordinarily with much rain; the wettest month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most, and April meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Neuse River is so much fun, and if you're here and you like golf, you can have a look at Heritage Golf Club. High temperatures at Moores Pond during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's.
 
               Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. Highs all through the winter are generally in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Moores Pond.

Beaverdam Lake is really a part of Falls Lake. It is approximately fifteen minutes north of the I-540 beltway on Highway 50. Beaverdam Lake is separated from the main lake by a partial dam and bridge. It is approximately 500 acres in size.

Beaverdam Lake is restricted; no gasoline engines are allowed. This makes it a great place for kayaks, canoes, sailboats and electric-motor propelled boats. It has a very nice concrete boat ramp and adjacent dock, and has a very large parking lot. Adjacent to the boat launching ramp is a nice sand beach with floats delineating the swimming area and a small pavilion.
