Mitchells Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; the wettest month of the year is usually September, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is January. Having a good time at Mitchells Pond is uncomplicated. Mitchells Pond is a place with many visitors from Martinsville; good water scenery is available at Mitchells Pond Lower Dam near Mitchells Pond. If you need a place to stay Spsi Virginian Motel is       a great choice; hiking is a popular thing to do around Mitchells Pond; Cooks Wall Trail is a good local trail. Why not camp at Sunset Park Campground if you're here at Mitchells Pond; of course Baker Branch is a stunning stream that is worth checking out. For the period of the days of summer at Mitchells Pond highs are usually in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 40's                  with temperatures at Mitchells Pond dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. A golf course close to Mitchells Pond is Hemlock Golf Course, and camping at Mitchells Pond is magnificent fun, Moores Springs Campground on the Dan River is a magnificent local campground. There's wonderful hiking along the Cascade Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Dan River. This lake is so wonderful.
