Hiking is a popular thing to do around       Mitchells Pond; Hanging Rock Trail is a great local trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Dan River. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do close to Mitchells Pond. Scott Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and Holiday Inn WINSTON-SALEM-UNIV PARKWAY is a wonderful location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Cooks Wall Trail, and Mitchells                  Pond is a good location to visit for more than one day, Hanging Rock State Park is a good location to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Do stop at Camelot Woods Lake in the neighborhood of Mitchells Pond, it's a beautiful lake. Throughout the summertime here at Mitchells Pond, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Mitchells Pond fall into the 20's.
