This lake is so wonderful. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll like Mitchells Pond. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cape Fear; why not take a refreshing hike along the American Beech Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Mitchells Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Lazy Acres is a delightful location for that, and Mitchells Pond is right by the Group Camp | |

During the summer here at Mitchells Pond, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. Highs all through the winter are regularly in the
40's; through the dark hours in the winter at Mitchells Pond temperatures descend to the 20's. If you come at the right time of year, Upper Little River offers some magnificent whitewater, and if you get bored of Mitchells Pond you
could also check out nearby Lewis Lake. Hiking along the Fish Camp Trail is delightful fun; Holiday Inn Express Spring Lake-Ft. Bragg/Pope Afb is a great place to get some rest.
