During the summertime months highs here at Mint Lake reach the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's; nighttime lows during the winter for Mint Lake tend to be in the 20's. And if that's not sufficient, there's a load more to do next to Mint Lake. Lenoir Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out; a golf       course close by is Mill Creek Country Club. Microtel Inn Franklin is a nice site to get some rest, and if you've had enough of Mint Lake, Grant Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Sky Valley is a very popular ski area nearby, and you can go for a hike on the Rufus Morgan Trail. The high level of precipitation makes Mint Lake a pretty wet place; March is when you get the most rain here; October is the month with the least moisture. This spot, the Blue Ridge                  Mountains, has so much outdoors amusing things. Going for a hike on the Rartram Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and possibly you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Vitale Apple Orchard Lake is just a very short distance away. So much exciting stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not enough time. Don't leave Mint Lake without first going for a hike along the Hurricane Creek Trail, and Mint Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Cartoogechaye Creek is a glorious local campground. Mint Lake Dam is wonderful and it's near Mint Lake, and the peak of Bruce Knob can be observed from Mint Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Scaly Mountain. There's so much to do here at Mint Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Pines RV Park and Cabins is a pleasant location for that. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cartoogechaye River; if you need a site to stay Carolina Motel is a perfect choice. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Mint Lake is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. If only every site had this much outdoors enjoyable things, what a great earth it would be.
