In North Carolina there are many beautiful lakes, Mill Pond is one of them. A day on the slopes of Hawksnest is just what you need, and you'll almost certainly meet some people from Boone here. is without doubt worth taking a look at. So much amusing stuff to do at Mill Pond, so little time. Head up to Sugar Mountain and strap some skis to your feet, as expected you could also take a look at Wildcat Lake while you're
here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a great little trip to Bee Branch; from Mill Pond you acquire a magnificent sight of Beech Mountain. Pinnacle of the Sugar is an exciting location to stop
by while at Mill Pond, and Elk River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. Good hiking is available along the Yancey Ridge Trail; a wonderful spot to camp here at Mill Pond is Grandfather Campground and Cabins. Just can't
get enough of Mill Pond. After a long day outdoors Beech Mountain Slopeside is a fine place to spend a night or two, and camping is available at Flintlock Campground. A lot of rainfall falls at Mill Pond; the wettest month of the year is typically May, that's the one that rains the most, and December is the month with the least moisture.
