    In North Carolina there are many beautiful lakes, Mill Pond is one of them. A day on the slopes of Hawksnest is just what you need, and you'll almost certainly meet some people from Boone here. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Mill Pond without first going for a hike along the Daniel Boone Scout Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Ivy's Suite Options. Through the warmest time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 70's at Mill Pond while night lows  
   are mostly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Mill Pond dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights.
There's fine hiking along the Laurel Fork Trail. A spree to Buckeye Spring will fill your soul with delightful feelings; if you're a golfer then a magnificent close by course is Mountain Glen Golf Club. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Elk River, and Mill Pond is in close proximity to Sugar Gap which
 
               is without doubt worth taking a look at.
So much amusing stuff to do at Mill Pond, so little time. Head up to Sugar Mountain and strap some skis to your feet, as expected you could also take a look at Wildcat Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Don't forget to take a great little trip to Bee Branch; from Mill Pond you acquire a magnificent sight of Beech Mountain. Pinnacle of the Sugar is an exciting location to stop by while at Mill Pond, and Elk River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by.
Good hiking is available along the Yancey Ridge Trail; a wonderful spot to camp here at Mill Pond is Grandfather Campground and Cabins. Just can't get enough of Mill Pond. After a long day outdoors Beech Mountain Slopeside is a fine place to spend a night or two, and camping is available at Flintlock Campground. A lot of rainfall falls at Mill Pond; the wettest month of the year is typically May, that's the one that rains the most, and December is the month with the least moisture.
