The beauty of Mill Pond is reason enough to stop by. There are plenty of folks from Boone here at Mill Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Mountain Lodge At Banner Elk. Mill Pond is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Grandfather Campground and Cabins is a pleasant local campground, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Sugar Mountain. | | Pond while night lows are regularly in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Mill Pond. The Laurel Fork Trail offers hiking at its best. Good hiking is available along the Daniel Boone Scout Trail, and not far from Mill Pond you'll stumble on Grandfather Mountain Lake which is a beautiful lake. This lake is so wonderful. Club is close by; Sugar Gap is close by, and is a perfect site. Mill Pond gets a good deal of water; most of the rain falls during May, and the driest month of the year is December. Beech Mountain Inns is a brilliant place to
get some rest, and there's pleasant hiking along the Yancey Ridge Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Elk River has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby, and Pinnacle of the Sugar is an interesting place to have a look at while at
Mill Pond. So many entertaining things to do here at Mill Pond, too tremendous to be true. Camping at Down By The River Campground is always a fine experience, and in case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always
go whitewater paddling on Elk River. If you love the outdoors, you'll go for Mill Pond. The top of Beech Mountain is easily seen from Mill Pond, and why not head up to Hawksnest and strap some skis to your feet. Bee Branch is a stream
that you may stumble upon while here, and do put some time aside to spend at Buckeye Spring since you're here at Mill Pond.
