Golf can be played at Lynrock       Golf Club, and there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Mayo River - North Fork. If you need a spot to stay Jameson Inn Eden is a great choice; Medberrys Lake is a nice place to visit for more than one day, Summit Conference center is a nice place to camp nearby. If you get bored of Medberrys Lake, you could also go to nearby Tuttles Lake, and a lake close by is Smiths Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for                  you then we recommend North Mayo, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Eden is a great place to spend a night or two. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Take a side tour to Roach Creek, and Medberrys Lake is a spot with many visitors from Greensboro-High Point.
