Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Tuckasegee River; you'll in all probability meet some folks from Brevard here. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Meadow Lake. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Fairfield Falls. Lakes? Sure, Fairfield Lake is around here. All year is a magnificent time in the Blue Ridge Mountains if you fancy       the outdoors. Westridge is a splendid campground nearby, and a glorious place close by is Boneyard Gap. Summertime highs at Meadow Lake generally tend to be in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. Highs throughout the wintertime are typically in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Meadow Lake. The high level of precipitation makes Meadow Lake a relatively wet place; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and the                  driest of the months is October. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. If the weather is glorious here at Meadow Lake, you can go for a hike along the Whiteside Mountain National Recreation Trail; Sapphire Valley Resort is a tremendous spot to get some rest. Stay the night at Wolf Creek Overlook; some of the water close by flows, like Little Hogback Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Foothills Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity; the slopes of Scaly Mountain are so inviting noone can resist. Fairfield Lake is a tremendous lake in the neighborhood of Meadow Lake; why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Red Bird Golf Links. Be careful coming to Meadow Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Whitewater River; dry warm beds await you at Old Edwards Inn and Spa. This lake is so wonderful.
