     McKinney Lake Dam is not far at all from McKinney Lake, and you can stay the night at Pine Lake Campground. This lake is so wonderful. It's a good idea to visit Big Branch, it's near McKinney Lake, and lakes are such calm spots, why not check out Woods Pond Number 1. The warmest time of the year at McKinney Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's;  
   after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at McKinney Lake fall into the 20's.
If you need a location to stay Regal Inn is a great choice; the wonderful people of Rockingham like to hang out nearby. McKinney Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is April. That right there is lots already, but it keeps on going; McKinney Lake has it all. An afternoon playing golf
 
               at Richmond Pines Country Club is always a pleasure, and there are other sites here than McKinney Lake, for example Woods Pond Number 2.
Greene Leaf is a brilliant site to get some rest; McKinney Lake is a tremendous spot to visit for more than one day, Long Leaf Pines Oasis is a tremendous spot to camp nearby.
