This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little River; McKellars Pond is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Lazy Acres is a delightful local campground. Now, you may assume that's heaps but there's even more fun stuff to do here at McKellars Pond. Why not take a refreshing hike along       the American Beech Trail, and Starlite Motel is a good place to get some rest. High temperatures at McKellars Pond through the summer months are in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's with temperatures at McKellars Pond dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. NC Noname Forty-Five Dam is worth checking out since you're here, and some nearby water includes                  Cypress Creek. Dry warm beds await you at Sleep Inn ,Inn & Suites, and a lake close by is Lower McKellars Pond. Hiking is a popular thing to do around McKellars Pond; Campbell Creek Loop is a great local trail, and the peak of Coolyconch Mountain can be made out from McKellars Pond. This lake is so wonderful. McKellars Pond generally gets lots of precipitation; July is the wettest month with most rain; November meanwhile is the driest month.
