A large amount of precipitation falls at McFarland Lake; most of the rain falls through March, and the driest of the months is January. So much amusing stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just tremendous. Get your pulse rate up on the delightful whitewater of French Broad River - East Fork, and why not visit close by Boring Creek while you're here at McFarland Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all       the enjoyable things in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ash Grove Resort Cabins And Camping is a wonderful campground here, and if you need a site to stay Willoughby Woods is a magnificent choice. This lake is so wonderful. A great site for whitewater paddling near McFarland Lake is French Broad River - North Fork, and going for a hike on the Art Loeb Trail is always a delightful adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Graveyard Hill can be spotted from McFarland                  Lake, and you can stay the night at Black Forest Family Camping. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ford Lake Dam is not far at all from McFarland Lake; if you're here why not pop by Walnut Gap. While you're here at McFarland Lake you will meet lots of people from close by Brevard, and after a long day outdoors Red Lion Bed & Breakfast is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. For the duration of the warm days of summer, highs typically are in the 80's at McFarland Lake with nighttime lows in the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and night lows through the wintertime for McFarland Lake tend to be in the 20's. So much cool stuff to do at McFarland Lake, so little time. Lakes are such peaceful spots, why not go to Ford Lake near McFarland Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Black Mountain Trail.
