A wonderful forest near McFarland Lake is North Carolina State University Forest, and a great nearby hotel is Red Roof Inn Durham. Deep Creek is a gorgeous stream that is worth a visit; Holiday Inn Express Durham, Nc is a nice spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Just can't get enough of McFarland Lake. McFarland Lake Dam is a spot that is in the vicinity of McFarland Lake, and McFarland       Lake is a site with many visitors from Durham. McFarland Lake commonly gets a large amount of precipitation; July is the wettest month with most rain, and April meanwhile is the driest month. If the weather is gorgeous, you get a good vista of Red Mountain from McFarland Lake; if you're here you can play some golf at Lake Winds Golf Course. At McFarland Lake throughout the days of summer highs are in the 80's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 60's.                  All through the wintertime highs are commonly in the 40's with temperatures at McFarland Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at McFarland Lake is good fun, Birchwood RV Park is a good local campground; there are other sites here than McFarland Lake, for example Bollinger Pond.
