This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Country Inn And Suites By Carlson Asheville is a magnificent choice; get yourself into a kayak and hit Davidson River. At McElrath Lake throughout the warm months highs are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are regularly in the 40's while McElrath Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. Yep, outdoors       entertaining stuff truly is abundant here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. While you're here at McElrath Lake you can take a hike along the Laurel Mountain Trail; the wonderful people of Asheville like to hang out close by. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. A journey to Allen Gap is always fun, and if you come at the right time of year, Little River offers some splendid whitewater. There's no way somebody can get bored here                  in the Blue Ridge Mountains. A great view of striking Bryson Mountain is available from McElrath Lake; hiking along the Shut-In Trail is splendid fun. Take a little spree to Bad Fork since you're here at McElrath Lake, and going for a hike along the Side Hill Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. What a site this is for outdoors folks. Pierce Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at, and Mountain Laurel Resort is a good local campground. Very pretty scenery and delightful skiing is what you get at Ski Beech, and McElrath Lake is a great site to visit for more than one day, Lake Powhatan Campground is a great site to camp nearby. McElrath Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; most of the rain falls during March while October is generally the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of McElrath Lake, you could also go to nearby Lake Powhatan, and enjoy a round of golf at High Vista Country Club. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Suites Asheville.
