lots but there's even more entertaining things to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. If you haven’t been to Blue Ridge Parkway, you have to schedule some time for it while you're here, and do stop at Bad Fork while you're here at McElrath Lake.
McElrath Lake is one of the lakes here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! The Blue Ridge Mountains rocks! Go for a hike on the Shut-In Trail. McElrath Lake really is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. You're possibly into lakes, Pierce Lake is one of those nearby, and this is a popular spot for people from Asheville. This lake is so wonderful. There's tremendous hiking along the Laurel Mountain Trail, and get dripping wet paddling on Davidson River. McElrath Lake gets a good deal of water; during March this area sees the most rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
And if that's not sufficient there's a heap more entertaining stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The summit of Bryson Mountain can be observed from McElrath Lake; everyone nearby loves skiing at Wolf Laurel.

Camp Rockbrook
14 miles away
...ok is a traditional overnight summer camp for girls located in the mountains of western North Carolina near Brevard.  Established in 1921, it offers a diverse program of horseback riding, outdoor adventure activities, whitewater rafting, ceramics, crafts, and many other activities.  Girls ages 6-16 attend for 2-, 3- or 4-week sessions. Campers live with other girls their age under the supervision of skilled instructors and cabin counselors. Rockbrook has a 1:4 staff/camper ratio, and is accredited by the American Camp Association.

Each summer Rockbrook provides a unique camp program of recreation, adventure, creativity and fun designed for young girls. A day at Rockbrook is filled with new experiences and great opportunities to develop lasting friendships. Our goal is for each camper to gain, at her own pace, greater self-confidence and a deeper understanding of herself and of her relationship with other people and the natural world. Emphasizing a friendly and noncompetitive environment, we aim to provide summer camp memories that can serve as inner resources later in life.

I hope whoever reads this Email knows Susan White Jones (Mrs. Reuben) She used to live in Spartanburg, SC and was a member of our ''Teena'' Club. We are now in our 70s. One of our members, Fran Bailey Kendrick has cancer and is very ill. She was allowed to go to her home yesterday with Hospice visiting her. If you could get this word to Susan, I know Fran would like to speak to her and her phone number is 864-582-8258. I tried to call Susan at home and finally remembered that she goes to Bonclarken every summer. My name is Jeanne Foster Clark jeannefclark@charter. Net

Please let me know if you can help me,
Susan and Fran.
Thank you so very much ...

Art Loeb Trail
17 miles away
Fred, there are no mountains in the south above timberline. There are mountains with no timber, however....One of my favs. the signs say most difficult, but that’s really only for the hard parts, the rest isn’t that bad ;)...But for real, bring sunscreen, and I would advise against camping on the balds...Wind is non-stop, and you are completely exposed to whatever random weather decides to show up, albeit rain, snow, or saturating mist....Beautiful scenery. Well worth the climb. Highly recommended!...The best Pisgah has to offer, and its pretty damn good....
