This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The high level of rainfall makes McCorkle Lake a quite wet place; May is the month that gets the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. You don’t have to go far from McCorkle Lake to see the water at McCorkle Dam, and at McCorkle Lake you can make out Hildebran Mountain.
