There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Deep River, and a magnificent nearby hotel is Inn at Eagle Springs. Through the summertime months highs here at McCauley Pond get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are usually in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at McCauley Pond. Go for a hike on the Uwharrie Jeep Trail. The high       level of rain makes McCauley Pond a reasonably wet place; the month with most of the rain is August, and November on the other hand is the driest. Biscoe Days Inn is a pleasant place to get some rest, and McCauley Pond Dam is a gorgeous place, definitely worth going to. This lake is so wonderful.
