Near McCabe Pond you come across the Side Hill Trail which is a fine hiking trail, and a good nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express HENDERSONVILLE-FLAT ROCK. The yearly rain here at McCabe Pond is about average; most of the rain falls during March, and October is when it's the driest. Now, you may believe that's loads but there's even more cool things to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Front Lake Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to       check out, and McCabe Pond is a magnificent site to visit for more than one day, Camper Cargo is a magnificent site to camp nearby. During your trip to McCabe Pond you'll meet some folks from Asheville for sure, and Front Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for some flowing water? Try Freeman Creek; if you come at the right time of year, Green River offers some great whitewater. You just can't imagine the amount                  of outdoors fun stuff the Blue Ridge Mountains has to offer. So much entertaining stuff to do here at McCabe Pond, too good to be true. Mine Gap is a pleasant place to have a look at nearby; playing golf is lots of fun at Highland Lake Golf Club. A visit to Blue Ridge Parkway is worthwhile, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Big Hungry Creek. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Blue Ridge Mountains is unbeatable! The vista of Glassy Mountain from McCabe Pond is lovely; after a long day outdoors The Waverly Inn is a splendid site to spend a night or two. If you get bored of McCabe Pond, you could also explore nearby Side Lake; Camp Mondamin is a nice campground nearby. Yeah, come here to McCabe Pond for a nice time. On a nice day at McCabe Pond you can take a hike along the Mullinax Trail, and the Shut-In Trail is a wonderful hiking trail close by. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to McCabe Pond. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's.
