Lakes are such serene places, why not explore Eagle Lake near Maynard Lake. There's so much to do here at Maynard Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Charlotte/Fort Mill KOA is a tremendous spot for that. Be careful coming to Maynard Lake, you might not ever wanna go back home again. Maynard Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Lazy Daze Campground is a pleasant local campground,       and after a long day outdoors Hyatt Place Charlotte City Park is a good place to spend a night or two. Maynard Lake is not far at all from Charlotte-Gastonia-Concord, and needless to say Irwin Creek is a delightful stream that is worth taking a look at. You'll come across a beautiful lake called Whippoorwill Lake near Maynard Lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Catawba River - South Fork. Summertime highs at Maynard Lake generally tend to be in                  the 80's with night lows in the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 50's, and overnight lows all through the wintertime for Maynard Lake tend to be in the 20's. A pleasant close by hotel is Homewood Suites Charlotte Airport-Coliseum. Maynard Lake generally gets a large amount of rainfall; March is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is April. This lake is so wonderful.
