There's so much to do here at Maxton Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Long Leaf Pines Oasis is a great place for that. This lake is so wonderful. It's a tremendous idea to pop by Jowers Branch, it's right next door to Maxton Pond, and not far from Maxton Pond you'll stumble on McCormick Pond which is a stunning lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting       things in the vicinity of Maxton Pond. Lakes? Sure, McNair Fishpond is nearby. Maxton Pond Dam has tremendous water scenery and it's close to Maxton Pond, and Maxton Pond is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Lake Campground is a brilliant local campground. Maxton Pond gets lots of water; July is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is April. All through the days of summer at Maxton Pond temperatures are usually in the 90's.                  Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and night lows in the 20's for Maxton Pond.
