This lake is so wonderful. Do have a look at Noname near Mathis Lake, it's a scenic lake; a brilliant close by hotel is Economy Inn. High temperatures at Mathis Lake through the months of summer are in the 80's while night lows are regularly in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the       40's while the cold winter nights at Mathis Lake are in the 20's. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Yadkin River; Mathis Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Van Hoy Farms is a pleasant local campground. So much cool stuff near Mathis Lake, absolutely phenomenal. The top of Redmond Mountain is easily seen from Mathis Lake, and great water scenery is available at Mathis Dam near Mathis Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Reddies River                  offers some magnificent whitewater; do take a hike on the Dogwood Trail. This lake is so wonderful. People from Statesville-Mooresville love to come to Mathis Lake, and a stunning lake like Fox Mountain Lake is a fine location to have a look at.
