Marshall Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Why not camp at Tanglewood Family Resort while you're here at Marshall Lake, and Yadkin River is a pleasant whitewater spot nearby. Marshall Lake ordinarily gets a great deal of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is November.
If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on South Yadkin
