This lake is so wonderful. Head up to Wolf Laurel and strap some skis to your feet, and some nearby water includes Miller Branch. There is a great hiking trail in the vicinity of Mars Hill Reservoir called the No Business Trail; Mars Hill Reservoir Dam has tremendous water scenery. Mars Hill Reservoir is a rather wet place mostly with lots of rainfall; the month of July is the       wettest with most of the rain; October is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Bald Mountain Campground is a nice campground here, and a day on the slopes of Ski Beech is just what you need. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll fancy Mars Hill Reservoir. The Granny Lewis Trail is a glorious hiking trail close to Mars Hill Reservoir, and if you need a place to stay Wolf Laurel Inn is a good choice. A wonderful place to check out near Mars Hill Reservoir                  is McKinney Gap; if you come at the right time of year, Nolichucky River offers some good whitewater. All through the summer months at Mars Hill Reservoir temperatures are typically in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 60's. Highs through the winter are typically in the 40's, and overnight lows at Mars Hill Reservoir all through the wintertime commonly descend into the 20's. But wait, there's more exciting things to do in the Great Smoky Mountains. Mars Hill Reservoir is a tremendous place to camp, Nolichucky Gorge Campground is a tremendous place, and Comfort Inn Mars Hill is a magnificent location to get some rest. The panoramas at Blue Ridge Parkway will blow your mind, and drift down the rapids of Spivey Creek in a kayak. So much exciting stuff to do here at Mars Hill Reservoir, too nice to be true.
