Go to Mahler Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. This lake is so wonderful. Through the summer highs here at Mahler Pond reach the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Mahler Pond fall into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Fairways Of The Mountains (Vri) is a magnificent place to spend a night or two;

| | lakes are such peaceful spots, why not go to Lake Lanier.
Columbus/Tryon Days Inn is a delightful place to get some rest, and Green River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot close by. If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on North Pacolet River, and a quick spree to Horse Creek is positively a brilliant idea. The summit of Mockingbird Hill can be seen from Mahler Pond, and Deering Milliken Lake is a good lake nearby.

Mahler Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August while April is mostly the driest month. Any time is a good time at Mahler Pond if you like the outdoors. If you came for an overnight stay
Silver Creek Campground and whitewater Outfitters is a wonderful place to camp, and a round of golf at nearby Meadowbrook Golf Club is a great way to kill some time. Orchard Lake Campground is a nice campground nearby, and Mahlers Pond Dam is a location that is next to Mahler Pond.

| This section is fun but not very difficult. The river is full of tubers in the summer. Trout fishing is good here so bring a rod, just be sure you know the regulations as they change on different sections and the game wardens are notorious ticket writers. The put in is at ''Fish Top'' access and the take out is at the ''Big Rock'' access parking lot both on Green River Cove Rd. Also from the Big Rock access to the public landing on Lake Adger is a good trip, but a little slower.... |

we came from california and have stayed at many different campgrounds. This is by far, the best we have found. Just perfect.... We plan on being here a long time.
...Bought by Susan and Steve Suber in 1997, the Flowermill RV. campground is in Taylors, SC. It's proximity to The Mountains and surrounding lakes makes it a perfect place to stay. The park is right next to the Enoree river on land that was once used as a mill. The old structure still exists as does the dam that provided its power. With its sandy beach and beautiful waterfall, I cant think of a better place to relax and let the sounds of nature wash the stress away. The owners couldn't have been nicer or more informative. A pure delight... |
