What a nice lake Madonna Lake is. If time allows, Blue Ridge Parkway is a national park worth going to, and you can run the rapids of Green River. One of the main highlights of the surroundings of Madonna Lake is Glassy Mountain, and if you're here, you could have a look at King Creek. A good place to camp here at Madonna Lake is Town Mountain Travel Park. Lakes? Sure, Bonclarken Lake is nearby.

The Blue Ridge Mountains is unbeatable!. And if that's not enough there's a lot more entertaining things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Good hiking is available along the Shut-In Trail, and a glorious nearby hotel is The Waverly Inn.

but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Go for a hike on the Mullinax Trail; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Lake Bonclarken. So much exciting stuff to
do at Madonna Lake, so little time. Don't leave Madonna Lake without first going for a hike along the Side Hill Trail, and Big Hungry Creek is a great whitewater spot nearby. This location rocks, just explore all the cool things to
do in the neighborhood of Madonna Lake. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Ski Beech, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Highland Lake Golf Club is in the vicinity.
This lake is so wonderful.
Camping is available at Park Place Recreational Vehicle Park; you'll in all probability meet some folks from Asheville here. Madonna Lake is a good place of common rain; March is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of
the months is January. Summertime highs at Madonna Lake regularly tend to be in the 80's; the nighttime is quite chillier of course, frequently in the 60's. For the period of the winter the highs are generally in the 40's, and nighttime
lows during the wintertime for Madonna Lake tend to be in the 20's.

| This section is fun but not very difficult. The river is full of tubers in the summer. Trout fishing is good here so bring a rod, just be sure you know the regulations as they change on different sections and the game wardens are notorious ticket writers. The put in is at ''Fish Top'' access and the take out is at the ''Big Rock'' access parking lot both on Green River Cove Rd. Also from the Big Rock access to the public landing on Lake Adger is a good trip, but a little slower.... |
