Good hiking is available along the Cascade Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lower Janita Lake a wet place; the wettest month of the year is usually March, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is November. A wonderful close by hotel is Sleep Inn Hanes Mall. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lower Janita Lake has to offer,       you can camp at Tanglewood Family Resort. Going for a hike on the Cooks Wall Trail is always a great adventure, and you can go for a hike on the Hanging Rock Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Yadkin River right next door to Lower Janita Lake; not far from Lower Janita Lake you'll locate Myers Lake which is a lovely lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. An afternoon playing golf at Heather Hills Golf Course is always a                  delight, and delightful water scenery is available at Lower Janita Lake Dam in close proximity to Lower Janita Lake. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Lower Janita Lake with night lows in the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Lower Janita Lake tend to be in the 20's. After a long day outdoors La Quinta Inn And Suites Winston-Salem is a good location to spend a night or two. There's so much to do here at Lower Janita Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Thousand Trails is a glorious place for that.
