The high level of rain makes Long Lake a reasonably wet place; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and November is when it's the driest. You don’t have to go far from Long Lake to see the water at Albemarle City Lake Dam, and since you're here, you could take a look at Coley Branch. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Long Lake has to offer,       you can camp at Norwood Camping Resort, and whitewater paddling is great on Uwharrie River. Go for a hike on the Uwharrie National Recreation Trail; an afternoon playing golf at Mountain Brook Golf Course is always a joy. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Good hiking is available along the Uwharrie Jeep Trail, and if you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Albemarle, Nc is a tremendous choice. This lake is                  so wonderful. Long Lake is a pleasant place to camp, Whip-o-will Family Campground is a pleasant place, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rocky River. Long Lake is a site with many visitors from Albemarle; dry warm beds await you at Sleep Inn Albemarle. At Long Lake during the summertime highs are in the 80's; the night is a little cooler of course, usually in the 60's.
