All through the warmest time of the year highs here at Long Lake get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Long Lake sink into the 20's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Long Lake a wet spot; the month of June       is the wettest with most of the rain, and November on the other hand is the driest. If you're a golfer then a fine close by course is Mountain Brook Golf Course; a perfect location for whitewater paddling is Rocky River. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Uwharrie River, and since you're here, you could explore Coley Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Albemarle, Nc is a great place                  to get some rest, and if you came to camp Cotton Patch Gold Mine is a pleasant place to do that. Long Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Whip-o-will Family Campground is a perfect local campground; while you're here you can take a hike along the Uwharrie Jeep Trail. So much exciting stuff to do at Long Lake, so little time. Why not explore Albemarle City Lake Dam if you're here, and a great close by hotel is Sleep Inn Albemarle.
