Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend New River; Ellis Knoll can be distinguished from Little Glade Millpond. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at New River Canoe and       Campground; next to Little Glade Millpond you stumble on a golf course called Olde Beau Golf Club. Summertime highs at Little Glade Millpond generally tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Little Glade Millpond. After a long day outdoors High Meadows Inn Motel is a wonderful place to spend a night or                  two, and there are plenty of people from North Wilkesboro here at Little Glade Millpond. Any time is a glorious time at Little Glade Millpond if you go for the outdoors. Haynes Branch is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping at, and do take a hike on the Bournes Branch Trail.
