This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Cooks Wall Trail is always a great adventure, and a brilliant close by hotel is Baymont Inn & Suites - Winston-Salem/Univ. Pkwy. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can stop at Linville Lake Dam, and there are other places here than Linville Lake, for example Babcock Lake. If you need a location to stay Residence Inn By Marriott Winston/Salem is a great choice;       whitewater paddling is splendid on Dan River. This lake is so wonderful. At Linville Lake you always meet someone from Winston-Salem, and don't leave Linville Lake without first going for a hike along the Cascade Trail. Golf can be played at Grandview Golf Club, and Linville Lake is a great place to camp, Moores Springs Campground on the Dan River is a great place. Just can't get enough of Linville Lake. Grassy Creek flows through this region; Tanglewood                  Family Resort is a pleasant campground here. Linville Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; March is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is November. Go for a hike on the Moores Knob Trail; paddling on Big Creek is so much fun. For the duration of the long summer days at Linville Lake highs are mostly in the 80's, and the night is somewhat colder of course, mostly in the 60's.
