Laurel Lake frequently gets a lot of rain; throughout July this area sees the most rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. During the warm months highs here at Laurel Lake reach the 80's while overnight lows are commonly in the 60's. Don't leave Laurel Lake without first going for a hike along the Red Fork Falls Trail, and Crabtree Falls is a tremendous local attraction. lake is so wonderful. Playing golf is lots of fun at Grassy Creek Golf & Country Club, and glide down the rapids of Toe River - South in a kayak. Camping at Spruce Pine Campground is always a magnificent experience, and the vista
of Crabtree Mountain is striking. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Catawba River - North Fork offers some tremendous whitewater; a lake nearby is Buckner Lake. You just can't imagine the amount
of outdoors exciting things the area right next door to Laurel Lake has to offer. Good hiking is available along the Stamping Ground Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Laurel Lake really
is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise. A brilliant close by hotel is Super 8 Marion NC, of course you could also take a look at Emerald Lake if you're here; it's not far at all.
