Why not check out Lake Tomahawk Dam since you're here, and Briar Branch is one of the streams close by that might be worth checking out. Visiting Blue Ridge Parkway is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and there are other places here than Laurel Lake, for example Lake Eden. But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Swannanoa River;       if the weather is pretty, you obtain a glorious view of Allen Mountain from Laurel Lake. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Black Mountain is a great location to spend a night or two, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Asheville here. At Laurel Lake through the months of summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and through the dark hours in                  the winter at Laurel Lake temperatures sink to the 20's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Any time is a wonderful time at Laurel Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors. Hit the slopes at Wolf Laurel around here. This site is unbeatable, just check out all the fun things to do close to Laurel Lake. Get wet paddling on Rocky Broad River, and if you need a site to stay Super 8 Motel - Black Mountain/Asheville is a great choice. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. Lakes? Sure, Lake Tomahawk is in close proximity; Ski Beech has fine slopes and a friendly staff. Laurel Lake gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; the month with most of the rain is July; October meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at K O A Kampgrounds if you're here at Laurel Lake, and Black Mountain Town Golf Course is a golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful.
