Olde Point Golf and Country Club is a golf course in close proximity to The Lake; camping is available at Lake Leamon Campground. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Wallace-Hwy 41, Nc is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two, and camping at Holland's Shelter Creek is always a fine experience. Some of the water nearby flows, like       Cypress Creek, and you can go for a hike on the Tarheel Trail. Be careful coming to The Lake, you might not ever wanna go back home again. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to The Lake, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's, and night lows in the 30's for The Lake. The Lake ordinarily gets a great deal of rain; of all the months in a year July is the one                  with the most rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month.
