Camping is available at Cattail Creek Campground; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Summit Loop Trail. The high level of rain makes Lake Williams a reasonably wet site; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily August, that's the one that rains the most while April is mostly the driest month. So much       entertaining stuff to do here at Lake Williams, too nice to be true. Not far from Lake Williams, you'll find Roanoke Rapids Lake which is a scenic lake, and Jameson Inn Roanoke Rapids is a fine location to get some rest. Lakes are great; I F Rochelle Pond is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Lake Williams, and Rochelle Pond Dam is a site that is close to Lake Williams. There's whitewater on Roanoke River for all you adrenaline junkies, and dry warm beds                  await you at Comfort Suites Roanoke Rapids. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Lake Williams, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's while Lake Williams nighttime low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Take a side spree to Black Duck Creek, and do take a hike on the Dam Site Loop Trail.
