High temperatures at Lake Townsend through the summertime are in the 80's; the nighttime is a little colder of course, frequently in the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's while Lake Townsend nighttime low temperatures all through the winter are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the       night at Summit Conference center; there's some out of the ordinary stuff to see at Townsend Dam close to Lake Townsend. After a long day outdoors Greensboro Marriott Downtown is a delightful place to spend a night or two. Much precipitation falls at Lake Townsend; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily July, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is April. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. A striking lake like Lake                  Herman in the vicinity of Lake Townsend is a great spot to take a look at. There's so much to do here at Lake Townsend that you need to camp here for a while, Greensboro Campground is a great location for that. Do go to Hardys Mill Pond right next door to Lake Townsend, it's a delightful lake, and playing golf is lots of fun at Bryan Park and Golf Club.
