Do stop by Lake Tom-A-Lex while you're in this part of North Carolina. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Tom-A-Lex is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Thousand Trails is a fine local campground, and a beautiful lake like City Lake is a good place to go to. Here at Lake Tom-A-Lex you'll almost certainly meet some people from Lexington-Thomasville, and Yadkin River has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot nearby.

Jimmys Creek flows through this region; if you're interested in hydro structures, you can stop at Lake Tom-A-Lex
Dam. All through the warm days of summer here at Lake Tom-A-Lex, high temperatures generally get into the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and overnight lows at Lake Tom-A-Lex throughout the winter typically sink into the 20's.
