This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. That right there is loads already, but it carries on; Lake Powhatan has it all. If the weather is perfect here at Lake Powhatan, you can go for a hike along the Side Hill Trail, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Davidson River. So many enjoyable things in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just tremendous. Blue Ridge Parkway is a good local destination       here at Lake Powhatan, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Shut-In Trail. Just can't get enough of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The skiing at Ski Beech is wonderful. This is no site for people who don’t like to have a good time. Beaten Branch is a stream that you may encounter while you're here; there is a great hiking trail close by called the Laurel Mountain Trail. Lake Powhatan is a quite wet place usually with lots of precipitation; of all                  the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and October is the month with the least moisture. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Near Lake Powhatan you discover a golf course called High Vista Country Club, and if you get bored of Lake Powhatan you could also have a look at nearby Bent Creek Ranch Lake. If you need a site to stay Comfort Suites Asheville is a glorious choice; Camp Deer Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Powhatan Dam has great water scenery and it's in close proximity to Lake Powhatan, and Lake Powhatan is a magnificent spot to visit for more than one day, Parkway Lane RV Park is a magnificent spot to camp nearby. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend French Broad River; a fine nearby hotel is Country Inn And Suites By Carlson Asheville. You might want to pay a visit to Ball Gap while you're here at Lake Powhatan, and Lake Powhatan Campground is a great campground nearby. Summer at Lake Powhatan comes with high temperatures in the 80's; the night is slightly chillier of course, generally in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows at Lake Powhatan through the winter frequently sink into the 20's. This lake is so wonderful.
