Summertime highs at Lake Powhatan generally tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Lake Powhatan. So many enjoyable things to do here at Lake Powhatan, too good to be true. Do check out Lake Powhatan Dam if you're here at Lake Powhatan, and the top of       Glenn Bald is easily seen from Lake Powhatan. If you go for the outdoors, you'll fancy Lake Powhatan. Don't forget to take a perfect little trip to Beaten Branch; Lake Powhatan is right by the Laurel Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on French Broad River; the Side Hill Trail offers hiking at its best. But wait, there's more exciting things to do                  in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the Blue Ridge Mountains has to offer. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Ski Beech is near Lake Powhatan, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Shut-In Trail. Having a great time in the Blue Ridge Mountains is painless. After a long day outdoors Country Inn And Suites By Carlson Asheville is a magnificent place to spend a night or two, and if you haven’t been to Blue Ridge Parkway, you should schedule some time for it while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Lake Powhatan is nice fun, Parkway Lane RV Park is a nice local campground, and Comfort Suites Asheville is a good site to get some rest. Ball Gap is a glorious place to pop by close by, and people from Asheville love to come here. Lake Powhatan sees pretty high levels of rainfall; through the month of July you get the most rain around here; October is when it's the driest. If you're a golfer then a great nearby course is High Vista Country Club, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Bent Creek Ranch Lake. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Davidson River; if you came for an overnight stay Lake Powhatan Campground is a perfect place to camp.
