Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Neuse River, and Lake Myra is a place with many visitors from Raleigh-Cary. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Lake Myra. There's some out of the ordinary stuff to catch a sight of at Lake Myra Dam in the neighborhood of Lake Myra, and a nice close by hotel is Comfort Suites Clayton. For the period of the summer highs here at Lake Myra       reach the 80's while overnight lows are usually in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Lake Myra temperatures plunge to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Camptown RV, and near Lake Myra you discover a golf course called Wendell Country Club. Lake Myra frequently gets much rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; April is the month with the least                  moisture.
