A fine nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express RALEIGH-EAST, and Lake Mirl is not the only spot nearby, Hammonds Pond is a nearby lake. If you need a place to stay Country Hearth Inn Knightdale is a fine choice, and you can run the rapids of Neuse River. Lake Mirl commonly gets a lot of precipitation; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is April.

| | you can stop at Hammonds Pond Dam. There's so much to do here at Lake Mirl that you need to camp here for a while, Champion Cheerleading Camps is a splendid place for that. While you're here at Lake Mirl you can play some golf at Wil-Mar Golf Club, naturally you could also have a look at Watkins Pond since you're here; it's not far at all. Beaverdam Lake
 | Beaverdam Lake is really a part of Falls Lake. It is approximately fifteen minutes north of the I-540 beltway on Highway 50. Beaverdam Lake is separated from the main lake by a partial dam and bridge. It is approximately 500 acres in size.
Beaverdam Lake is restricted; no gasoline engines are allowed. This makes it a great place for kayaks, canoes, sailboats and electric-motor propelled boats. It has a very nice concrete boat ramp and adjacent dock, and has a very large parking lot. Adjacent to the boat launching ramp is a nice sand beach with floats delineating the swimming area and a small pavilion.
