A visit to Lake James is always a good idea. If only every location had this much outdoors enjoyable things, what a great world it would be. The Yancey Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best, and drift down the rapids of Steels Creek in a kayak. Lake James is a great location to visit for more than one day, Optimistic RV Resort is a great location to camp nearby, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites. All through the warm days of summer at Lake James

| | temperatures are typically in the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake James temperatures plunge to the 20's.

Lake James Dam is a beautiful place in close proximity to Lake James; if you need a location to stay Days Inn And Suites is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful.
Paddling on Catawba River is so much fun, and Linville River is one of the streams close by that might be worth a visit. These mountains rock, just look at all the exciting things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There's no such
thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Appalachian Mountain, and enjoy a round of golf at Silver Creek Plantation Golf Club Restaurant.
If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
There's splendid hiking along the Bald Mountain Trail; Rose Creek Family Campground is a splendid local campground.
