Paddling on Eno River is so much fun, and there are other sites here than Lake Hogan, for example Blackwoods Lake. Buckhorn Branch is a great local stream, and Lake Hogan Dam is not far at all from Lake Hogan. Lake Hogan is a wet place that gets lots of rain; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain while April is the month with the       least amount of precipitation. After a long day outdoors Carolina Inn is a great location to spend a night or two, and Lake Hogan is a wonderful spot to visit for more than one day, Spring Hill Park is a wonderful spot to camp nearby. At Lake Hogan you always meet someone from Durham, and whitewater paddling is great on New Hope Creek. This lake is so wonderful. On a beautiful day you obtain a sight of Big Hill from Lake Hogan, and Meadow Flats is a glorious                  site to check out. All through the summertime, highs usually are in the 80's at Lake Hogan while overnight lows are regularly in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's; overnight lows at Lake Hogan throughout the wintertime generally fall into the 20's. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Lake Hogan. The Franklin Hotel is a good place to get some rest; you can stay the night at Birchwood RV Park.
