Lake Hills sees pretty high levels of rain; most of the rain falls through March, and the driest month of the year is November. There are tremendous spots to look at along the Cooks Wall Trail; if you came for an overnight stay Tanglewood Family Resort is a pleasant spot to camp. After a long day outdoors Econo Lodge King is a magnificent site to spend a night or two; Jomeokee Campground is a pleasant       local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Grandview Golf Lake, and Big Creek is a good whitewater spot close by. If you want a pleasant time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Lake Hills. You can take a little trip to Lake Hills Club Dam while you're here at Lake Hills, and if you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on                  Dan River. Grandview Golf Club is a great golf course nearby. High temperatures at Lake Hills through the months of summer are in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 60's. Highs through the winter are frequently in the 40's; night lows in the 20's for Lake Hills. This is a great area for folks who like lakes. K and W Lake is a lake nearby, and if you need a site to stay Comfort Inn Winston-Salem is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. There's good hiking along the Cascade Trail; lots of people from Winston-Salem come here.
