Lake Gaston gets much water; most of the rain falls all through August while April is frequently the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Outdoor World Corp is a great site to camp, and hiking along the Dam Site Loop Trail is nice fun.       Lake Gaston Golf Club is a great golf course close by, and Cagles Pond is a magnificent lake close by. Through the summertime months here at Lake Gaston, high temperatures generally reach the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 40's while Lake Gaston night low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's. All the outdoors entertaining stuff next to Lake Gaston will keep you coming                  back over and over. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can take a look at Gaston Dam, and The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads is a delightful campground nearby. On a pretty day you get a vista of Wilkins Hill from Lake Gaston, and whitewater paddling is delightful on Roanoke River. This lake is so wonderful. Jameson Inn Roanoke Rapids is a splendid location to get some rest, and going for a hike along the Summit Loop Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity.
