| | & Suites Murphy, Nc is a pleasant spot to get some rest, and don't leave Lake Cherokee without first going for a hike along the Kirkland Creek Trail. Be careful coming to Lake Cherokee, you might not ever want to return home again. The Doc Rogers Trail offers hiking at its best; Hibbert Mountain is clearly visible from Lake Cherokee. to Lake Cherokee. And if that's not enough there's a heap more cool things to do in the Great Smoky Mountains. Bald River is a wonderful whitewater spot near Lake Cherokee, and camping is available at Pine Creek Cabins Campground.
A large amount of precipitation falls at Lake Cherokee; March is the month that gets the most rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Lake Cherokee. Summer overnight
lows dip down to the 60's. Through the winter highs are usually in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Lake Cherokee. In the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Turtletown
Creek, and do have a look at Persimmon Lake, it's a scenic lake. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid place close to Lake Cherokee is Sandy Gap; there's fine hiking along the Sugar Mountain Trail. Just can't get enough of the Great
Smoky Mountains. After a long day outdoors Days Inn Murphy is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two, and let's not forget Flax Creek which is a stream that you may encounter while you're here.
