These mountains rock, just look at all the amusing stuff to do in the Great Smoky Mountains. A magnificent location next to Lake Cherokee is Sandy Gap, and an afternoon playing golf at Cherokee Hills Golf Club is always a diversion. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Lake Cherokee. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and throughout       the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Cherokee temperatures sink to the 20's. Lake Cherokee gets a lot of water; the wettest month of the year is regularly March, that's the one that rains the most, and October is the month with the least moisture. You definitely should fancy the Great Smoky Mountains. The peak of Hibbert Mountain can be distinguished from Lake Cherokee; if you come at the right time of year, Turtletown Creek offers some great whitewater.                  Pine Creek Cabins Campground is a good local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Cherokee; Sugar Mountain Trail is a tremendous local trail, and after a long day outdoors Days Inn Murphy is a fine site to spend a night or two. Lake Cherokee is located in the Great Smoky Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Do explore Persimmon Lake in close proximity to Lake Cherokee, it's a beautiful lake, and Persimmon Dam is a scenic spot. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a splendid time here at Lake Cherokee. Poteete Creek Camp Ground is a magnificent campground nearby; the Doc Rogers Trail offers hiking at its best. Good hiking is available along the Kirkland Creek Trail; get yourself into a kayak and hit Bald River. Looking for some flowing water?
