For the duration of the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Lagoon D with overnight lows in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at Lagoon D are in the 20's. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Lagoon D. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Catawba River - South Fork. After a long day outdoors Economy Inn is a good       place to spend a night or two; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Lagoon A. Dry warm beds await you at Economy Inn Bessemer, and Tuckers Grove Campground is a good campground here. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lagoon D a wet location; August is when you get the most rain here, and November is when it's the driest. Whitewater paddling is great on Kings Branch, and camping at Lagoon D is delightful                  fun, Kings Mountain State Park is a delightful local campground. This lake is so wonderful.
